Beckett Street is a residential street in the suburb of Balwyn. It connects Burroughs Road to Yarrbat Avenue in the south. Its southern end is also the location of Beckett Park and Maranoa Gardens.
Etymology
It is named for Robert Beckett, former councillor and mayor of the Camberwell Council as well as president of the Boroondara Shire Council. Beckett was a major public figure at the time and rose to become a prominent politician in the Parliament of Victoria.[1]
