President of Boroondara Shire

From Boroondara Wiki
This article is a stub. You can help BoroondaraWiki by expanding it.

The President of the Shire of Boroondara was the rough equivalent of the present-day position of mayor. The term was used due to Boroondara's status as a shire rather than a city, making it technically a rural rather than metropolitan council. The president was elected from amongst the sitting councillors on an annual basis.

Remuneration

As of 1903, the allowance was fixed at ₤50.[1] This was the same as at least 1896.[2]
