Nigel Kirby was a councillor on Hawthorn City Council from 1961 to 1974 and the inaugural councillor for Glenferrie Ward from 1996 to 1999 at Boroondara City Council. He also served as the last mayor of Hawthorn in 1993/94.[1][2] He later served as president of the Save Our Suburbs (SOS) group in the early 2000s.[3]
