North East Ward was an electoral division in the City of Boroondara. The ward was formed from the division of North Ward into two in 1934, with the second half becoming North West Ward. Each ward elected three councillors each on rotating three year terms. It covered parts of Balwyn, Balwyn North, Mont Albert and Surrey Hills. While all councillors were sacked in 1993, the ward officially ceased to exist in 1994 with the abolition of the City of Camberwell.
