Revision as of 11:49, 28 June 2016

This article covers councillors of the City of Camberwell, Town of Camberwell and Borough of Camberwell, who made up the Council that governed each incarnation of the municipality. In 1993, all councillors were suspended and replace by appointed commissioners.

Powers and duties

Selection process

Remuneration

At the time of the council's sacking in 1993, councillors were paid an allowance of $1,500 per annum, not including allowances.[1]

Councillors by ward

Commissioners

1934 to 1993

In 1934, the Council applied to the Victorian Government to create an extra ward. This resulted in North Ward being split into North East Ward and North West Ward. As part of the reforms, all sitting councillors were required to retire and nominate themselves for re-election if they wished to do so.[2][3]
