While websites like Wikipedia fulfill an important role, topics of local significance are often not covered. This is mainly due to notability guidelines that only allow better-known or better-cited topics to be included.

This is why resources like WikiVic are needed.

WikiVic is entirely self-funded. I do not want this site reliant on external factors beyond my control. Many similar projects have failed due to lack of funding or active support people.
