Greythorn is a locality in the suburb of Balwyn North. It was named for Greythorn Road, which had its named changed from 'Whitethorn Road' due to its similarity with Whitehorse Road. The boundaries of Greythorn vary according to definitions, but roughly follow Balwyn Road, the Eastern Freeway, Belmore Road, Union Road and Winfield Road.
